Wildlife Monitoring

Wildlife monitors are the unsung heroes of Haddo. 

 

If you love nature and enjoy sitting quietly for a time just watching animals, birds and insects, or if you have a keen eye for plants, then we would love to hear from you.

We are building a research portfolio for Haddo.  We want to know what we have, where, and in what numbers. 

 

In conjunction with NESBReC, we aim to hold a comprehensive record of all things living onsite.  This research can then be used by academics and decision makers to advise on best practice for achieving a positive outcome in relation to protecting wildlife whilst running a very busy country park.

It is incredibly important work, if we don't know what we have how can we ensure we are moving in the right direction?  Data is everything.

​

Basic training can be given on how best to carry out a survey, how to record your findings, and how to submit them to both NESBReC and Haddo.

​

This position would make an excellent addition to a CV for someone studying ecology, as well as those who just enjoy being in nature at quieter times.
